Ms. Barbara S. was admitted to Arden Place of Grapevine following a hospitalization for a stroke. She required moderate assistance with mobility, total assistance with ADLs and was ordered to have a puree diet due to swallowing difficulties. She received a specialized rehab program, including Vital Stim therapy for dysphagia, and neuromuscular re-education to improve balance and coordination. After 8 weeks of hard work with the rehab team, she reached a modified independent level for mobility and was able to receive a diet upgrade, which she specifically expressed excitement for since her favorite food was ice cream!
Ms. Barbara met all her long-term therapy goals and was able to discharge home to her Assisted Living Community. It was our pleasure to serve you again, Ms. Barbara. We wish you all the best and we thank you for returning to us for your rehabilitative needs!
