Mr. Donald R. came to Arden Place of Grapevine following a hospitalization for acute respiratory failure with hypoxia. He had multiple complications, including pneumonia, a tracheostomy placement, as well as a PEG tube placement. Upon admission, Mr. R required minimal assistance with mobility and moderate assistance with ADLs. After 8 weeks with the rehab team, Mr. R met and exceeded all his long-term therapy goals and was able to discharge at an independent level to an Independent Living Community with his wife. A former fireman, Mr. R looks most forward to attending his grandson’s upcoming wedding, and spending time catching up on current events. He loves a good, challenging crossword puzzle and “exercising the mind.”
